HERE IS THE INFORMATION FOR THIS SATURDAY

Hello PBD Parents and Dancers!

Final Month of Competition Season

We’re excited to be heading into the final month of our competition season! Please note a small schedule change for our last event, our final competition has been moved from May 30th to May 31st so we can support our amazing seniors as they celebrate prom.

Let’s finish the season strong and continue to represent with pride! Thank you all for your understanding, support, and team spirit.

As we wrap up competition season, we’ll be transitioning into preparations for our End-of-Year Concert. We can’t wait for our dancers to begin learning new routines and to showcase all their hard work for you to enjoy. It’s going to be an exciting and memorable finish to the year!

TEAM SHOUTOUTS

TEAM SHOUTOUTS

Tiny & Minis – You all looked incredible and delivered beautiful performances in every routine, especially your hip hop. Your energy and confidence on stage truly stood out, great job!

Mascots – Your lyrical performance was absolutely moving. So many parents shared how emotional it made them; we heard more than once, “We didn’t come to Vegas to cry!” What a special moment. And congratulations on earning Overall in Hip Hop, way to represent!

Elementary Team – The new section in your military routine was a hit, and even more impressive was how cleanly you performed it. No mistakes and full confidence, amazing work! Congratulations as well on earning Overall in Hip Hop!

Juniors – Your Jr. Pom came together just in time, and your hard work truly paid off. Earning 1st Overall with such a strong score is a testament to your dedication and perseverance. You proved that practice makes perfect, fantastic job!

Seniors – While there were no overalls this time, your performances were still outstanding. Jazz was absolutely captivating, the crowd (and especially me!) loved it. Hip Hop brought great energy as well. Now let’s keep pushing and aim for a clean military routine next time, we know you can do it!

Parents – Thank you for your continued support and dedication. We truly appreciate all that you do, especially ensuring dancers are prepared and on time; particularly for our youngest performers. Your support makes all the difference!

Now to a not so pleasant message:

Why Missing Competitions Hurts the Team

Competitions are not optional extras, they are a core part of being on a competitive team. When a dancer misses a competition, it affects more than just that individual.

  • Formations & spacing are impacted. One missing dancer changes visuals, timing, and floor patterns for the entire team.

  • The team loses confidence. Dancers rely on each other. When someone is missing, it creates uncertainty and stress on competition day.

  • Extra pressure on teammates. Other dancers must adjust on the spot, often with no rehearsal time, which isn’t fair to them.

  • Judging and scoring can be affected. Judges notice missing dancers, uneven spacing, and last-minute changes.

  • Team commitment matters. Competitive teams depend on everyone showing up and being reliable. Missing competitions breaks that trust.

Being on a team means committing to the team, not just practices, but competition days too.

Why Arriving at Call Time Is Critical

Call time exists for a reason. Arriving late, even “just a little,” causes a ripple effect for the entire team.

  • Warm-ups are missed. This increases injury risk and affects performance quality.

  • Run-throughs can’t happen. Teams need full attendance to clean spacing, timing, and transitions.

  • Stress levels rise. Late arrivals create unnecessary anxiety for dancers, coaches, and parents.

  • Hair, makeup, and costumes are delayed. One late dancer can hold up the entire group.

  • Respect for the team and staff. Being on time shows respect for teammates, coaches, and the work everyone has put in.

Call time is not a suggestion, it’s the time the team must be fully ready and present.

BOTTOM LINE:

Competitive dance requires discipline, responsibility, and teamwork.

  • Missing competitions hurts the team’s performance and morale.

  • Missing call time disrupts preparation and adds unnecessary stress.

When everyone shows up, on time and prepared, the team can perform with confidence, unity, and pride.

MISSED COMPETITION POLICY:

If a dancer misses a scheduled competition, they will not be permitted to participate in the following competition. In addition, coaches will adjust and rework routine formations as needed. Upon the dancer’s return, placement within the routine is not guaranteed, and the dancer may not return to their original spot.

TEAM MOMS

Yennie Argueta, Irma Rodriguez, and Karla Romero

We are fortunate to have dedicated team moms who help ensure that our dance team runs smoothly. Team moms serve as a vital link between parents, dancers, and coaches. Please familiarize yourself with the following guidelines regarding team moms:

Role of Team Moms:

  • Team moms are available to answer any questions you may have about the team, competitions, schedules, and other related matters.

  • They assist in organizing team activities, distributing information, and coordinating with the Coaches.

Communication:

  • If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to the team moms first. They are equipped to handle most inquiries and will escalate any issues to the appropriate Coaches if necessary.

  • Team moms are here to support you and your dancer, so do not hesitate to reach out to them for assistance.

We appreciate your cooperation and promptness in following these procedures. Our team moms are committed to making this a positive and organized experience for everyone involved.
